TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS AND JACKET

(Redirected from Take Off Your Pants And Jacket)

''' Take off Your Pants and Jacket''' is Blink-182's fourth studio album. It was released on June 12 2001 by MCA Records, and contained the hit singles "The Rock Show", "First Date", "Stay Together for the Kids" and "Anthem Part Two". The album sold over ten million records worldwide while going double platinum in the US. It was originally printed with three different editions, each with different colored discs and different colored covers. Each different type of CD had a separate duo of hidden tracks, one serious, the other a joke song. The bonus tracks were only available on the original pressings of the three variations. The album's title is a tongue-in-cheek pun on masturbation ("take off your pants and jack it").
The album was a huge success debuting at #1 and selling more than 350,000 copies in its first week on the Billboard 200 becoming the band's first and only album to do so, and is blink-182's 2nd best selling album.

★ A special edition can be downloaded on P2P systems like ThePirateBay.org. On it all the bonus tracks from the different versions are put on one 19-song CD. This was found out by Jersey Underground musician Raven Slade who owns the Special Edition.

★ A letter "G" can be seen on the jacket on the cover of the album. This is because every CD was titled in alphabetical order (B for ''Buddha'', C for ''Cheshire Cat'', D for ''Dude Ranch'', E for ''Enema of the State'', and there is a Famous Stars and Straps "F" on Travis's Drumset on the ''Mark, Tom and Travis Show'' cover) after the band realized an "A" is hidden on the cover of ''Flyswatter''. After ''Enema'' the letters were hidden in the artwork.

Blink-182 made a commercial to promote this album, where Mark Hoppus was a doctor who used Take off Your Pants and Jacket as a medicine. Tom DeLonge explained how Blink-182 now has 50% better songs and to listen to it 14 times daily, the number of tracks on the edited Red Plane, Yellow Pants, and Green Jacket versions of the CD. Travis only made a short appearance for a second as Mark gave him a prostate exam. At the end, Mark exclaims "Fuck Yeah!" The commercial never made an appearance on television, but it is available on YouTube here: [1].
