TARTAN PIMPERNEL

The 'Tartan Pimpernel' was a nickname given to the Reverend Donald Caskie, formerly minister of the Church of Scotland congregation in Paris, for helping numerous Allied sailors, soldiers and airmen to escape from occupied France during World War II. Caskie wrote an account of his exploits, entitled The Tartan Pimpernel, in 1957.
