Taurus the animal

Taurus is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation of the same name. Under the tropical zodiac, Taurus is occupied by the Sun from April 20 to May 20, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from May 14 to June 19. The opposite sign to Taurus is Scorpio, and both signs are commonly known as the most sexually responsive of all zodiacal members.

Mythology


In mythology Taurus is often associated with the Greek myth of the bull-form taken by Zeus in order to win Europa. Taurus is also associated with the Greco-Roman goddess Aphrodite/Venus and sometimes also the goddesses Hera/Juno, Ishtar, Isis, Freyja, and Frigg and the gods Pan, Dionysus/Bacchus, Xolotl, and Quetzalcoatl.

Characteristics


Taurus is the second sign of the Zodiac and associated with material and emotional security. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a calm, patient, reliable, fair, loyal, affectionate, easygoing, sensuous, ambitious, and determined character. Generally, there is something distinctly sensual about the appearance. The Taurus person is resourceful, thorough, dependable, responsible, placid, stable, comfortable, solid, earthy, strong, money-oriented, practical, productive, cautious, musical, and artistic. They can also sometimes be stubborn, indulgent, insecure, acquisitive, possessive, rigid, stodgy and slow, and prone to hedonism, laziness, inflexibility, habituality, jealousy, and antipathy.
Taurus is traditionally ruled by the planet Venus, the planet of love, desire, femininity, peace and harmony. Taurus represents the feminine sheath of Venus, and as such, is intensely magnetic. It is also the most feminine sign in the zodiac.
The Indian equivalent of Taurus is 'Vrishabha' , the Chinese equivalent is the Snake.

Relationships


The Taurus person is very affectionate in love, sensual, and instinctively aware of the power of their body sexually. However, they are also very possessive and stubborn.

Occupation


Suitable occupations are where perseverance, practicality and responsibility are awarded, and security is available, such as builders, farmers, bankers, civil servants, and accountants. Moreover, artistic pursuits, such as singing and acting, are appropriate occupations.

Body and Health


In terms of medical astrology and anatomy, Taurus is said to rule the vocal cords, tonsils, palate, throat, neck, ears, and lower jaw.
