TV use

An instrumental version of "Teardrop" serves as the theme song for the American broadcasts of ''House'', a medical television series starring Hugh Laurie. The song opens with a bass drum beat that is reminiscent of a heartbeat, lending itself easily to the show's medical theme. The instrumental version was also featured on the TV series ''Prison Break'', in the episode "Tonight," during a scene that contained brief flashbacks of the reason each of the primary characters wanted to escape. It has been used in the ''Cold Case'' episode "Sanctuary," the '' episode "MIA/NYC Non-Stop", the "Before and After" episode of "MTV Downtown" and the "Write Where it Hurts" episode of ''Daria''.
