TECOPHILAEACEAE
'Tecophilaeaceae' is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. Such a family has not been recognized by many taxonomists.
The APG II system, of 2003 (unchanged from the APG system, of 1998), does recognize this family and places it in the order Asparagales, in the clade monocots. The family then includes over half a dozen genera, with only a few dozen species, occurring in Africa, in western South America and western North America. This circumscription includes the genus ''Cyanastrum'', which sometimes has been treated as a separate family Cyanastraceae.
