TEM BARKWATER

'Tem Barkwater' is a fictional character in the children's book series ''The Edge Chronicles''. He appears in Clash of the Sky Galleons ''Beyond the Deepwoods'', ''Stormchaser'', and ''Freeglader''. He first appears serving under Wind Jackal on the ''Galerider'' and follows Quint after Wind Jackal's death. During this time, he reveals that he was forced to work as tarry vine bait for wood merchants attempting to get hold of Bloodoak timber. He joins Spillins, the Stone Pilot and Duggin in a sky ferry business between Clash of the Sky Galleons and Beyond the Deepwoods. He served on the Stormchaser under Captain Quintinius Verginix, aka, Cloud Wolf. He seems to have spent a long time on the Stormchaser from the way he speaks about the battles the crew have been involved in. After Cloud Wolf's disappearance in Stormchaser, he is first to pledge allegiance to Twig, but is soon lost in the Twilight Woods after the crew abandoned the Stormchaser. He was found by Shrykes and sold as a slave. He was presumed dead, but returned in ''Freeglader''. He is Rook's great uncle. It was then that he gave to Rook Cloud Wolfs sword miniatures from the Knights Academy which he passed onto Twig who gave it to his daughter Keris, it was then taken from Keris's dead hand by Tem Barkwater who then passed it on to Rook.
