'The A-List' is a series of young adult novels by Zoey Dean. The book series, about a group of rich friends who live in Beverly Hills, currently has eight books, with the first eponymous novel being released under the Little, Brown imprint Megan Tinsley Books.
The series was optioned by Alloy Entertainment and Universal Studios, and a film version of the stories is planned.

Plot summary
The series follows Anna Percy, an Upper East Side Manhattan private school girl who moves to Los Angeles to live with her father. Anna moves there to reinvent herself and to break free from her preppy Upper East Side life. She often refers to the 'This is How We Do Things Big Book, East Coast WASP Edition', not a real book, but a set of 'rules' that Anna grew up with (e.g. always answer that you're fine, etc.). Anna meets Ben Birnbaum on the airplane and instantly falls in love.
The other main characters are Samantha 'Sam' Sharpe, Camilla 'Cammie' Sheppard, and Delia 'Dee' Young. Others characters that are relevant are Parker Pinnelli, Adam Flood, Ben Birnbaum, Eduardo Munoz, Jackson Sharpe, Poppy Sinclair, Clark Sheppard, among others.
Character Descriptions
'Anna Percy'- A good girl from the Upper East Side in Manhattan who moves to Los Angeles to finish out her senior year at Beverly Hills High School. On the airplane she meets Ben Birnbaum. He takes her to actor Jackson Sharpe's wedding. She meets Samantha Sharpe, Cammie Sheppard, Dee Young, Adam Flood, and Parker Pinelli aka The A-List. She instantly becomes enemies with Cammie and later befriends Sam. Anna and Ben have ups and downs. And Anna is happy with the way she is breaking free of her "goody-two-shoes" image.
'Samantha Sharpe'- Daughter of Jackson Sharpe, aka "America's Most Beloved Action Star". She is called Sam. She has many insecurities and meets Eduardo Munoz who finds her beautiful. She falls in love with Eduardo, who doesn't believe she needs to change. She becomes very close to Anna and in the second and third books, refers to {Anna} as a "Crushette".
'Camilla Sheppard'- Daughter of Clark Sheppard, Los Angeles' uber agent. Camilla is always called Cammie. She is the most gorgeous girl at BHH. Her mother died when she was 9. Farther into the series, Cammie finds a love in Adam Flood. She also attempts to find out more about her mother, and more importantly, her mother's death.
'Delia Young'- Daughter of a famous music producer. Often goes by Dee. Dee is very spiritual and was once committed to a psychiatric treatment center due to a mental dysfunction. She once pretended to be pregnant with Ben's baby. She befriends Poppy, Sam's stepmother (who is 22 and pregnant with Jackson's baby), and hears the voice of Ruby Hummingbird, the baby, in her head in Las Vegas. This leads to her being taken to Ojai Mental Health Institute.
'Ben Birnbaum'- Son of Dr. Birnbaum, Hollywood's plastic surgeon to the stars. A very attractive student at Princeton. Once was Cammie's boyfriend but he dumped her, and now is on again/ off again with Anna Percy. Sam formerly had a huge crush on him.
