THE ORBITAL
'''The Orbital''' is the official student publication of Royal Holloway, University of London. It contains a wide range of interesting subjects covering student life, culture, entertainment and current affairs. It keeps a healthy balance between serious, hard-hitting topics and entertaining, light-hearted features.
Published by the Students' Union, the magazine releases up to 14 fortnightly issues per academic year. It is produced entirely by students with any student being able to contribute. The magazine generally observes an autonomous operation and advocates freedom of speech, though the final output is constitutionally supervised by the Students' Union through the Sabbatical Officer for Communications & Services.

In the early 1990s it was converted into a magazine format and renamed ''The Orbital'' after the nearby M25 motorway. The magazine developed into an A4 glossy magazine in the late 1990s before transforming into a B5 publication in 2005 with a new logo and fresher style.
