THE YOUNG TURKS (TALK SHOW)

'The Young Turks' is a three-hour radio talk show hosted by Cenk Uygur, combining politics, sex, news, pop culture, current affairs and personal stories. The show's motto is: "We don't make the news, we make the news sexy."^[1] On September 18, 2006, the show moved to Air America Radio for morning drive, 6-9AM ET. Since the show is broadcast from Los Angeles, the Young Turks begin their show live at 3AM Pacific Time.
The Young Turks claim to be the first internet TV news show. The video of the show is streamed daily on their website, and available for podcast. Unlike other radio/TV show hybrids, The Young Turks TV show is not simply a camera pointed at a DJ. They use a real news set and professional TV camera work.
The show offers exclusive, web-only video content via their Youtube Channel. They have received multiple honors for Top Rated, Most Viewed, and Most Discussed clips on Youtube. The Youtube content tends to be more apolitical, covering topics like sports and celebrity news. They also offer weekly highlights.
The Young Turks also offer a Members Only Postgame Show, an uncensored, web-only wrap-up show that is available only to Young Turks Members.
Since the inception of the show, it had been co-hosted by Ben Mankiewicz. It was announced on August 20, 2007 Ben will be leaving the Young Turks and moving to a new television show for TMZ ^[2].
Prior to signing with Air America, the show was broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio, on Sirius Left 146, weekdays from 6-9PM ET, and re-aired on Sirius Talk Central 148 from 12-2PM ET. ''The Young Turks'' are also carried by KFH (1330 AM/98.7 FM) in Wichita, Kansas from 7-9PM CT. ''The Young Turks'' was also webcast by RadioPower.org. MP3 archives are available at the show's website and The White Rose Society.
They were made famous for their 99 hour "Live, On Air Filibuster" conducted during the nomination of Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Cenk Uygur often posts links to related Young Turks archives in his blog on The Huffington Post and AOL Newsbloggers.
Cenk Uygur and a former co-host Jill Pike also hosted a daily entertainment show named "The Absolute Truth", which was streamed via their website.[1] The Absolute Truth last aired on June 15, 2007.
In July of 2007, some fans of the show started an unofficial Youtube spinoff show called "The Jung Jurks". The uncensored show features commentary and news spoofs, along with a quirky sci-fi subplot.
Inspired by the Jung Jurks, another fan started an Absolute Truth spinoff called "Sick of the Lies". The host of the show, Rev24, is a musician and devoted fan of Jill Pike.
