'''The Cheetah Girls 2''', a television movie, is the sequel to the Disney Channel Original Movie ''The Cheetah Girls'', starring Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams and Sabrina Bryan.

Storyline
The movie begins in Manhattan, New York, where the Cheetah Girls are performing "The Party's Just Begun" at a Graduation Party for the Manhattan Magnet's class of 2006, and The Cheetah's who are just ending junior year. Chanel's mother [Juanita] is planning to go to Barcelona, Spain and wants Chanel to go with her to her boyfriend Luc's villa, for a month of their summer break. Chanel is bummed and does not want to see Luc but the other girls are psyched and want to explore Barcelona. Aqua sees a shooting star later at night and then she and the rest of the girls find an ad for a music festival held in Barcelona. Galleria signs up the Cheetah Girls and the next day, Dorethea, Juanita, and The Cheetah Girls all end up at Luc's European villa. Everyone else but Chanel thinks that Luc is the perfect man for her mom, and she refuses to let him into the family. After the girls shopping spree ended, they meet Angel, a mysterious guitar player who accompanies them around Barcelona.("Strut") The girls audition for the festival and are accepted. The Cheetah Girls are introduced to Joaquin, a handsome dancer who begins to make a romantic relationship with Dorinda. Joaquin takes the Cheetahs to the Dancing Cat, a Spanish night club where all the new artists perform their songs. There they meet Spanish pop artist Marisol,(Belinda) who is also in the Music Festival and her manager/mother, Lola. ("Why Wait") Lola plans a scheme to get the Cheetah Girls to break up, as they are endangering her daughter's chance to win the competition and she wants Chanel to sing with her. Galleria notices that everyone is getting involved in other activities except for her, and decides to just go home because she's the only focused person and she felt left out of the equation since Chanel, Aqua and Dorinda have made new friends have things to do.("It's Over") While at a train station, the other three girls find Galleria and sing the starting sequence of "Amigas Cheetahs", the song she wrote. Galleria finally gives in and says she will only come back if they stay focused. They do a song that shows just how focused they are.("Step Up") Juanita believes that Luc doesn't want to marry her because Chanel doesn't like him. Luc later proposes to Juanita after Chanel gives her permission and she gladly accepts. Luc tells Chanel that she can stay in New York for her upcoming senior year. But while performing the song Step up Lola gets the Dancing Cat's manager to give the Cheetah Girls money for their performance. According to the competition rules, it's only for amateurs, which the Cheetahs are not, since they accepted the money. Angel, who is present during the entire exchange investigates what actually happens. Upon discovering the truth, he informs his uncle, the Festival Director who reinstates the Cheetahs in the competition. As her mother protests this decision, Marisol stands up to her and quits. The grand finale ("Amigas Cheetahs") ends the competition, and the movie as the Cheetahs sing out.

Translation oddities
(NOTE: It is highly unusual for something to be translated perfectly into another language; translations are often loose for the dialogue to make sense to the new audience)
★ In the scene at The Dancing Cat, after Marisol and Chanel finished singing A La Nanita Nana, Lola asks if any of them speak Spanish (English version). In the Spanish version, Lola asks if any of them were part Hispanic.
★ In one scene, Chanel and her mother dress up properly and wait for Luc's family. But after the family comes out of the van, they see the family dressed up casually. Chanel says (in the English version), "I could've at least worn flipflops." In the Spanish version, she says, "I should've worn the red gloves."
★ When Galleria is trying to write a new song for the competition, she complains about learning a new song in Spanish, and how they couldn't sing in Spanish (Galleria says that their pronunciation of Spanish is failing and discuss with Aqua about the song) . But they are obviously speaking Spanish. (This is not exactly a blooper, since it was translated from English.)
Trivia
★ In the book, her name is Dorinda Rogers, however, in the movie, her name is Dorinda Thomas.
★ This movie is co-choreographed by Kenny Ortega and Charles Klapow, the choreographers of ''High School Musical'' with English choreographer Paul Harris, (Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix), who was brought in to choreograph the Tango sequence.
★ This movie had the highest rated DCOM opening until ''Jump In!''.
★ Raven, who plays Galleria in the Cheetah Girls movies, was an executive producer for ''The Cheetah Girls 2''.
★ This movie had full length album versions of the songs in the movie, as opposed to the first one which didn't include the full length of the songs in the movies.
★ The DVD debuted at #10 on Billboard's "Top DVD sales" chart.
★ Peter Vives learned to play the guitar for the film, and it took him three weeks.
★ During the "Strut" dance sequence, Adrienne Bailon's shoes kept slipping off her feet, so the crew taped her shoes to her feet.
★ While filming "Amigas Cheetahs", it rained all over the stage. They had to wait until all the rain dried off to continue filming.
★ While dancing in "Amigas Cheetahs", Raven-Symoné's hat kept falling off. To stop this from happening, the crew cut the top part of the hat so it'd stay on her head.
★ The movie received a total over 30 million viewers in the US alone. (as of 2007)[1]
★ All the scenes in the movie were shot in Barcelona, Spain.
★ In Italy Ambra Lo Faro sang the Italian version of The Party's Just Begun, named "La festa è intorno a noi" ( The party is around us).
★ When the film re-aired on Disney Channel in the United States in September 2006, the Spanish version(with English subtitles) was shown first, then the English version (with Spanish subtitles). For these language versions, it was broadcast in widescreen.
★ All of the songs in the U.K version of the The Cheetah Girls 2 speed rate is 1.2, However on the soundtrack the playrate is 1. If you have Windows Media Player you can use WOW effects and change the speed rate.
Sequel
A sequel, '', will be released in 2008. It was confirmed by Adrienne Bailon. It is going to be filmed in India around the premise of a Bollywood film. It has been confirmed, however, that Raven will not return for the 3rd film.
Goofs
★ During the filming of the "Strut" music video, one of Raven's heel breaks.
★ Aqua's name is frequently changing from Aquanette to Aquanetta. Aquanetta was what Galleria's father, Franco, called her in the Cheetah Girls book series
★ In one part of the music video, Dorinda is holding a video camera. In the next scene she does not have it anymore. She is dancing with the other girls, and the video camera is nowhere to be seen.
★ In scenes where two people have a conversation (such as when Galleria was at the train station) the camera shows the face of the person talking. In some scenes, hair switches from behind and front of the head.
★ In "Step Up", before Dorinda arrives, Aqua ties her shoes and stands up. However, when Dorinda enters, Aqua is still sitting down.
★ Outside Aramet & Randolph's shop it shows Aqua with 2 yellow bags, 1 blue, 1 green in one shot. Then in a following shot when it shows the dress that Dorothea points out it shows Aqua's bags going in reverse (1 green, 1 blue, 2 yellow). And then a few shots later when Randolph shakes Aqua's hand the bags are back in the first order (2 yellow, 1 blue, 1 green).
★ At the final concert, a man and a woman are sitting in front of the Cheetah Girls' parents. When the camera comes in at another angle, two different women are in place of the couple. As the camera angle changes back to the original position, the man and woman are back.
★ Towards the end of the song "Amigas Cheetahs" the girls take there final bows and wave to the audience. However, the track of their voices keeps playing and the girl's lips aren't moving.
★ During 'Amigas Cheetahs', Chanel exclaims "Barcelona, help me bring out mi amiga Cheetah - Marisol!". As she says this however, her voice can be heard singing the line "Friends for life...".
