Northrop Frye Tribute
This was a video made for a seminar analyzing Chapter 3: Giants In Time, of Northrop Frye's "The Educated Imagination." We linked his concept of poetry with a "voodoo" magic illusion for the visual aspect of our seminar. Enjoy! - Andre, Jay, and Josh.
ATONEMENT Movie Trailer
Shot on location in the U.K., the film's story spans several decades. In 1935, 13-year-old fledgling writer Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) and her family live a life of wealth and privilege in their enormous mansion. On the warmest day of the year, the country estate takes on an unsettling hothouse atmosphere, stoking Briony's vivid imagination. Robbie Turner (Mr. McAvoy), the educated son of the family's housekeeper, carries a torch for Briony's headstrong older sister Cecilia (Ms. Knightley). Cecilia, he hopes, has comparable feelings; all it will take is one spark for this relationship to combust. When it does, Briony - who has a crush on Robbie - is compelled to interfere, going so far as accusing Robbie of a crime he did not commit. Cecilia and Robbie declare their love for each other, but he is arrested - and with Briony bearing false witness, the course of three lives is changed forever. Briony continues to seek forgiveness for her childhood misdeed. Through a terrible and courageous act of imagination, she finds the path to her uncertain atonement, and to an understanding of the power of enduring love.

Van Halen Movie Trailer -- Running with the Devil
"Running with the Devil" The unauthorized but inevitable Van Halen movie "Running with the Devil" is an unauthorized screenplay about the all time rock kings, the mighty Van Halen. In the mold of "The Doors," "Walk The Line," or "Ray"... it is a work of truthful fiction -- a mix of known events, unconfirmed reporting, educated guesses and pure imagination. I'm looking for people in a position to make this movie. Someone will someday, it might as well be you. Contact me for a printed copy. 120 pages. Screenplay format. Seeking representation. Atheist Answers - Pre and Post Islamic Enlightenment.
Just before and during the time of Muhammad, the high stature of reason in Islam has made it possible for intellect to play its role in the scientific and cultural spheres in Islamic societies. In this way, the reasons that allowed one institution to dominate in the name of religion have been omitted and the excuses that were used to oppress the freedom of mind have been outdone. For these reasons, the conflicts between science and religion that Europe underwent in the dark mediaeval ages did not take place in Islam. In Europe, these conflicts led to the emergence of the idea of enlightenment. This was a war that free intellectuals, the tenors of the movement of enlightenment, waged against the clergy. The Quran was written not by Allah. Allah exists only in ones imagination. Rather, it was written by men who were the most enlightened and educated in the world at that time.
Leee John - Trust My Heart
This is one of the key songs from our album, "Northern Soul 2007", which we released last September on Centre City Records and is still available to buy. Leee John was born John Leslie McGregor on June 23rd 1957, which is also my own birthday. Born in Hackney, London of St. Lucian descent, Leee is a British musician and actor. He was educated in New York, later studying drama at the Anna Scher Theatre School. He was working as a backing singer when he met Ashley Ingram. They formed a songwriting partnership, resolving to start their own 'slinky, sexy and erotic' group, working in a short-lived band called Fizzz. Together with Errol Kennedy they formed Imagination, a three piece English soul band in the early 1980s. Their first hit "Body Talk" reached number 4 in the UK Singles Chart in May 1981. Their biggest hit, "Just an Illusion", peaked at number two in March 1982. The trio frequently appeared on Top of the Pops and other pop music programmes. Despite not being an actor, Leee John made a guest appearance on Doctor Who in the story Enlightenment in 1983. He replaced an actor who had dropped out at short notice. The group in the UK waned but they continued to perform, tour and record until the early 1990s. John went back to acting, but recently resurfaced in the reality TV show Reborn in the USA alongside other singers such as Elkie Brooks and Tony Hadley. In 2005 John released a jazz album, Feel My Soul on Candid Records featuring a mixture of jazz standards, and original compositions. Since the album's release John has been touring the UK and Europe with his jazz quartet, as well as performing with Imagination. In 2007, he performed this track "Trust My Heart" for our album Northern Soul 2007.
