THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2007-08
The Football League is contested through three Divisions. The divisions are the League Championship, League One and League Two. The winner and the runner up of the League Championship will be automatically promoted to the Premiership and they will be joined by the winner of the League Championship playoff. The bottom two teams in League Two will be relegated to the Conference National.

★ Leeds United A.F.C. were deducted 15 points at the beginning of the League 1 season for failure to comply with rules on insolvency. As a part of this Leeds were given their golden share, allowing them to play in League 1 for the 2007/2008 season.
