'The Hockey News' is a North American
hockey newspaper. The ''Hockey News'', or THN, was founded in 1947 by
Ken McKenzie and
Bill Cote, and has since been perhaps the most recognized hockey publication in
North America. THN publishes weekly from September until May, and monthly during the summer off-season.
The newspaper principally covers the
National Hockey League, relying on local beat writers to cover each team. Smaller sections cover minor league, junior, college and international hockey. In addition to its weekly edition, THN also produces special publications, such as its annual ''Yearbook ''and pool guide, its prospect issue and its ''Best of Everything in Hockey'' series.
Jason Kay is the current editor-in-chief and its two senior writers are Ken Campbell and
Mike Brophy. Its on-line writer who also contributes to the print issue is
Adam Proteau.
It is available through subscription in
North America and
Europe and digitally to the rest of the world. It is also available at many newsstands in North America.
TSN broadcaster
Bob McKenzie (no relation to the founder) is a former editor-in-chief, as is
TSN producer,
Steve Dryden.
