THE IMPOSTER

'''The Imposter''' is the second full-length album (after the critically-acclaimed ''Stereotype Be'') by American song writer and dc Talk member Kevin Max. It was released on October 18, 2005 by Northern Records. The title and overall themes of the album draw inspiration from the writings of controversial theologian (and friend of Max's) Brennan Manning -- particularly Manning's books ''Ragamuffin Gospel'' and ''Abba's Child''. The title track, according to Max, concerns "the fight between the flesh and the spirit.”
Kevin Max and Andy Prickett (of Prayer Chain and The Lassie Foundation) produced the album in Yorba Linda, California. ''The Imposter'' was mixed by Chris Colbert (Sex Pistols, The Walkmen, Violet Burning) and mastered by Mark Rockriguez.
''The Imposter'' contains a mixture of ballads and faster songs. It also contains different musical styles such as rock and blues. Max's signature vibrato is present throughout and, like his first solo album, there is a hidden track.
