THIEF TAKERS

'Thief Takers' was made by Central Television a subsidiary of Carlton Communications , it was a series about an Armed Robbery Squad set in London , based on the Metropolitan Police famous Flying Squad. Although many have said that nothing could ever touch The Sweeney a much loved Thames Televisions cop show in the 1970's itself based on the Flying Squad, Thief Takers managed for most to put on a good show , lots of car chases and shootouts whilst also giving the viewer glimpses of the officers home and private lives. The Pilot was shown in 1995 with the first full series going to air in 1996 with series two following later the same year and the third and final series in 1997. Most storylines were wound up ina single episode with the occasional two parter, individual character storylines ( mainly regarding their personal situations ) did span and evolve throughout each series.
