THOMAS FRANCIS, PRINCE OF CARIGNAN

'Thomas Francis' (december 21, 1596 - january 22, 1656) was the founder of the Savoy-Carignano line of the House of Savoy.
Born in Turin, he was son of Charles Emmanuel I of Savoy and Catherine Micaela of Spain, daughter of Philip II of Spain and Elizabeth of Valois. Elizabeth was daughter to Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici.
Thomas married Marie of Bourbon-Soissons. They had 7 children, but only 4 survived infancy (Italian names in parentheses):
