The emblems of the Three Leagues are combined in the modern coat of arms of Graubünden.
The 'Three Leagues' was the alliance of
1471 of the
League of God's House, the
League of the Ten Jurisdictions and the
Grey League, leading to the formation of the Swiss canton of
Graubünden. The Three Leagues became allied with the
Old Swiss Confederacy in
1496, siding with it in the
Swabian war of
1499, but they did not join the Confederacy until the imposition of the
Helvetic Republic in
1803.
