Band Bio
Thunderlip sounds like a little bit of Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, southern rock, ‘80s glam spandex, with a shirtless long haired singer. Add to that some new millenium beards (kind of like the ‘70s), some capes (a bit like Big Boys frontman mixed with mexican wrestling superstars minus the masks). Yes singer Chuck Krueger wears capes, almost like James Brown wore capes, and for the same reasons. Many members of the the Valient Thorr fan club, Thorriors support Thunderlip, because of their similar sound and style.
About Thunderlip
Self-Titled Album
From their spandex wearing sweaty shirtless lead singer that sings like Ian Svenonius (of Nation of Ulysses) would if he fronted a cock rock band in the 80's. Complete with songs like ''Meat the Snake'', ''Damnation'', ''Fire in the Hole''. Every song makes you want to pump your fist in the air and imagine you were back at a Black Flag or Minor Threat show in the early 80's. Not that they sound like Black Flag, or Minor Threat, but they have that same raw energy that made those bands have a killer live show.
★ FUEL TV’s Best of Metal 2005 (top 4) - for their video “Fire in the Hole” from their debut!
The Prophecy
On the new album - '''The Prophecy''' - the vocal treatment is a little more in-line with an earlier day of metal and southern rock; the bass holds the back beat with a steady, pulsing, very tasteful blues-style old-school-southern-rock feel; the drums are steady and driving and remain true to their sound and their southern roots; and the guitars kick your ass with well-placed, intentionally-killer riffs, runs, taps, and solos. This album also features a bonus track - Thunderlip covers Deep Purple’s “Highway Star”

Berserk Rock
Berserk rock has been used to describe bands including Thunderlip.
Sometimes called berserk metal, is a recent movement in American rock originating in eastern North Carolina in the early 2000s. Mostly in college towns such as Durham and Wilmington.
Influences
All berserk bands are influenced by Thin Lizzy and AC/DC either directly or indirectly. Most, such as Valient Thorr and Thunderlip, are influenced by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Iron Maiden. Other common influences are Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Judas Priest, and Jimi Hendrix.
Attributes
Most berserk rock bands use twin guitar leads, similar to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, and Iron Maiden. They also have a tendency toward Viking imagery such as long beards(Valient Thorr) or horned helmets (Thunderlip). The almost defining element, outside the sound, is the bizarre on-stage antics of the frontmen. For example, he may spit in the air and catch it in his mouth, or strange and grotesque expressions or body movements are good examples of this.
However, these actions are more common among the North Carolina bands. The frontmen rarely actually sings or hardcore scream, but rather yell in an unstylized way.
Fans
Fans of this budding genre are often localized and spreads by word of mouth (or myspace). Interestingly, although the sound and pace of the music bears more similarity to 70s hard rock, the behavior of fans is more akin to 80s thrash bands. Often seen head-banging, starting mosh pits, and flashing the "devil horns". Valient Thorr fans are often seen wearing denim jackets with the sleeves cut off and the bands logo painted on the back and are often "anti-metro".
