TIGER BEAT

'''Tiger Beat''' is an American teen magazine. It is currently published by Laufer Media, Inc. of Los Angeles, California.
Founded in 1965 by Charles "Chuck" Laufer and his bother, Ira, ''Tiger Beat'' has dedicated itself to teen idol gossip, movies, music and fashion. Known for its covers with 'cut and paste' collaged photos of the latest teen idols on them. Its publisher, The Laufer Co., also founded and published the teen magazines ''FaVE'' (now defunct) and Right On! (now owned by another publisher).
''Tiger Beat's main target has always been girls ranging from the age of 9 to 19, but because of the high volume of 'Disney Stars', is usually bought by elementary age girls.
''Tiger Beat'' was sold to Primedia late in 1998 by former publisher Sterling/MacFadden. It was purchased in 2003 by Scott Laufer, the son of Chuck Laufer.
Laufer Media also publishes ''Tiger Beat's sister publication, ''Bop''.
Some teen idols portrayed on Tiger Beat's cover have included The Beatles, Paul Anka, Donnie and Marie Osmond, David and Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, Barry Williams, Susan Dey, John Travolta, Michael Jackson, Menudo, Michael J. Fox, Tom Cruise, River Phoenix, the "2 Coreys" (Feldman and Haim), River Phoenix, Kirk Cameron, Molly Ringwald, Tiffany, Deborah Gibson, New Kids on The Block, Will Smith, Jonathan Brandis, Devon Sawa, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ricky Martin, Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and many others.
Today, they currently feature stars of the Disney Channel, or related stars. These people include Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, The Jonas Brothers, Aly & AJ, Brenda Song, Mitchel Musso, Emily Osment, Jason Dolley, and others.
