TIM CHAPMAN
'Tim "Youngblood" Chapman' is a bounty hunter who has come to prominence with his role on the American TV show "Dog The Bounty Hunter". Originally from California, Tim moved to Hawaii after meeting Duane Chapman (no relation, though Duane Chapman describes him as a "blood brother").[1] Both went on to found Da Kine Bail Bonds and now operate in locations throughout Hawaii.[2]
On September 14, 2006, Tim Chapman was arrested along with Duane and Leland Chapman by U.S. Marshals at the request of the Mexican government and were to be extradited to Mexico to face charges of "deprivation of liberty". The charges stem from Chapman's capture of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster, a convicted serial rapist, on June 18, 2003 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Luster is now in jail in the U.S. serving a 124-year term. Charges have been pending against the three since local police in Mexico arrested them shortly after they detained Luster; they posted bail but never returned to Puerto Vallarta for their court hearing on July 15, 2003.
Tim Chapman, Duane Chapman, and Leland Chapman were released from custody on bail; Tim and Leland Chapman's bail was set at $100,000 each, Duane Chapman's at $300,000. All three were tagged with electronic bracelets and were ordered to surrender their passports and not leave Hawaii. If convicted, they may be sentenced to up to four years in prison. They will face an extradition hearing to Mexico under terms of treaties between the U.S. and Mexico. [3]
On August 4th, 2007, on an episode of Larry King Live, while Duane "Dog" Chapman was talking, it was said that the charges against Duane "Dog" Chapman, Leland Chapman, and Tim Chapman on the Andrew Luster case, had been dropped by the Mexican government.
Chapman is currently married to his second wife, Davina, and has three children: a son Timmy, of whom he has joint custody from his previous marriage, and daughters Summer Rain and Autumn Sky. He resides in Hawaii.
On May 13, 2007, Tim's brother, Russell Chapman, died of kidney failure. Russell had been a longtime member of Duane 'Dog' Chapman's bounty hunter posse.
