TORONTO ATHLETIC CLUB

The 'Toronto Athletic Club', also know as the 'Stewart Building', is a building located at 149 College Street in Toronto. It was designed by the famed E. J. Lennox and built in 1894.
The building was built due to the efforts of John Beverley Robinson, an amateur boxer. He formed the Toronto Athletic Club in 1891 and served as its president until 1895. It included the first indoor pool in Canada. For many years it housed portions of the Ontario College of Art, the pool being used for a world famous holography studio. Today the building houses the Trebas Institute.
