:''There are also schools named Tower Hill School in Atlantic, Pennsylvania, Red Bank, New Jersey, Randolph, Massachusetts and Witney, Oxfordshire.''
'Tower Hill School' is a small private preparatory school located at 2813 West 17th Street in Wilmington, Delaware offering instruction for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The school was founded in 1919, and was originally committed to progressive education methods. It has a strong academic reputation and college placement record; particularly strong are the English and Art departments, while those relating to History, Science, and Mathematics tend to be slightly less emphasized .
The boys lacrosse and soccer, girls field hockey, track, tennis and lacrosse teams are considered strong, and often win state titles. In fact, the girls lacrosse team won the state title in 2007.
The school motto is ''Multa bene facta'', "Many things done well".
Famous alumni include former Duke basketball player Carmen Wallace, U.S. Congressman Michael N. Castle, Orlando Magic Senior Vice President Pat Williams, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Governor Pete DuPont, educator Douglas H. Lagarde and others.
Every Spring, near the end of the school year, Tower Hill students from Grades 1-8 participate in Field Day, a competition between the Green team and the White team. Students are placed onto these teams when arriving at Tower Hill, and compete for the same team each year. Events include the hula hoop race, stilts walk, Carry The Colors relay race, and the Tower Tug (Tug o' War). In addition to the standard events, in which all students compete, each grade level has "dashes" a foot race in which students must qualify, and the top three finishers earn points for their teams.
