TREVOR CHAPPELL (RADIO PRESENTER)

'Trevor Chappell' is an Australian Broadcasting Corporation local radio presenter based in Melbourne. He currently presents the ''Overnight'' program, nationally from 2.00 till 5.30/6.00am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Trevor is joined by a variety of regular guests every night.
Originally from Western Australia after leaving high school Trevor went on to be a jack of all trades. He worked in a variety of jobs throughout the State, from working on mines and wheat bins in the far north-west, to working as a builder's labourer and pulling pints in a pub in Broome.
Aged 21, Trevor went on to study teaching and then youth work which led to a career as a youth worker in Victoria. After three years in this position, Trevor enrolled in an acting course at the National Theatre in Melbourne. Trevor decided to pursue radio broadcasting and moved back to Western Australia to study broadcasting at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
He gained his first radio job working as a producer for Perth's 6PR then moved back to Melbourne in 1995 to work as a casual producer for ABC Radio at Southbank.
During his time with the ABC, Trevor has produced programs for 774 ABC Melbourne and Victorian Regional Radio, most recently as a producer for Derek Guille's afternoon program.
Since becoming presenter of Overnights Trevor has been winner at the ABC Local Radio Awards - for Best New Talent in 2002 and his program won the award for Networked Program of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He was also nominated as the ABC's Broadcaster of the Year in 2007.
When he's not behind the microphone Trevor enjoys the theatre, surfing and golf .
