ARROWGRASS

(Redirected from Triglochin)

'Arrowgrass' is the common name for members of the genus ''Triglochin''. The genus belongs to the family Juncaginaceae and counts about a dozen-and-a-half members. North America has four (or five) species, two of which can also be found in the British Isles (and Europe): ''Triglochin palustris'', marsh arrowgrass and ''Triglochin maritimum'', sea arrowgrass. Australia has many more.
Arrowgrasses are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Grey Chi.
