TRUSTEE SAVINGS BANK

'Trustee Savings Bank' ('TSB') may refer to any one of the predecessors of:

★ First Trust Bank, Northern Ireland

★ Lloyds TSB, England and Wales

★ Lloyds TSB Scotland, Scotland

★ Permanent TSB, Republic of Ireland
Historically the Trustee savings banks system, founded by the Rev Henry Duncan, was a (loosely) unified system in Britain and Ireland. This acted as the model for a worldwide savings bank movement [1].
The United Kingdom Government of Ireland Act, 1920 separated the TSB after the partition of Ireland, and the four above banks are the main legacy of the system.
In the UK, TSB advertised with the slogan "TSB - the bank that likes to say yes" (this was later changed to "TSB - because we want you to say yes").
