U.S. ROUTE 117

'U.S. Route 117' is a spur of U.S. Route 17. It currently runs for 114 miles (183 km) from Wilson, North Carolina at Interstate 95 (exit 119, as a concurrency with U.S. 264), to Wilmington, North Carolina. The highway runs entirely within the state of North Carolina. Construction has been completed from Wilson through Goldsboro, expanding U.S. Highway 117 to a four-lane, divided highway with controlled access. The former route between the two cities has been renamed U.S. 117A. The highway parallels Interstate 40 between Warsaw and Wilmington. In Wilmington, U.S. 117 follows College Road (running concurrent with N.C. 132), passing by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Shipyard Boulevard, where it crosses U.S. 421 (Carolina Beach Road), and ends at the Port of Wilmington.
