USS LEARY
Two ships of the United States Navy have borne the name 'USS ''Leary''', in honor of Lieutenant Clarence F. Leary (1894–1918), who was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross in World War I.
★ The first, ''Leary'' (DD-158), was a ''Wickes''-class destroyer, launched in 1918 and sunk in action in 1943.
★ The second, ''Leary'' (DD-879), was a ''Gearing''-class destroyer, launched in 1945. She was decommissioned in 1973, transferred to Spain and renamed ''Langara''. She was struck and scrapped in 1992.
