The 'United States Army Research, Development and Engineering Command' is the major subordinate command within the United States Army Material Command, and is charged with "integrating, maturing and demonstrating emerging technologies to field the right equipment, in the shortest time, for our Soldiers."[3] It oversees the US Army's various research centers and laboratories.
