URI SHULEVITZ

'Uri Shulevitz' (1935-) is an American author and illustrator. He was born on February 27, 1935 in Warsaw, Poland. He won the Caldecott Medal in 1969 for his illustration of ''The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship''. He created his first picture book, ''The Moon in My Room'', in 1963. Mr. Shulevitz lives in New York City.
