'Vale do Paraíba' (''Paraiba Valley'') is a valley that extends from the eastern area of São Paulo State to the west of Rio de Janeiro State. It is crossed by Paraíba do Sul River and it is located between the Mantiqueira Mountains and Serra do Mar (Portuguese for ''Mountain Range of the Sea'').
Major cities in the area are São José dos Campos, Taubaté, Jacareí and Guaratinguetá.
