VANESSA BELL CALLOWAY


'Vanessa Bell Calloway' (born 'Vanessa Bell' on March 20, 1957) is an American actress. She has appeared in a number of films, including ''Coming to America'' and ''Cheaper by the Dozen''.
Calloway was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She got her first major break playing Imani Izzi in Eddie Murphy's ''Coming to America'' (1988), one year after she had made her film debut. The winner of an NAACP Image Award, Calloway has also appeared in numerous other films, including voicing a character in the animated film ''Bebe's Kids'' (1992), ''What's Love Got to Do With It?'' (1993), and ''Crimson Tide'' (1995). Her television credits include a recurring role as Yvonne Caldwell on the daily serial ''All My Children'', during the 1984-1985 season and in 1987. She has a recurring role on David Kelly's ''Boston Public'' and has guest starred on the Lifetime show For the People and the UPN shows ''The Parkers'' and ''One on One''. She played Maggie in the CBS series "Under One Roof". Calloway is also an accomplished dancer who trained with Alvin Ailey, George Faison, and Otis Sallid. She completed her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree, with concentration in dance, from Ohio University. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
She has a daughter, Ashley, who is one of the star on BET's show Baldwin Hills.
