'Vergennes Union High School' is a high school/junior high school of about 701 students in Vergennes, Vermont. It hosts a wide variety of extra-curricular activities such as lacrosse, soccer, basket ball, baseball, a knitting club, jazz band, golf, German club and the FFA. The school serves the city of Vergennes, as well as the towns of Addison, Vermont, Ferrisburgh, Vermont, Panton, Vermont, and Waltham, Vermont. This group of towns are part of the Addison Northwest Supervisory Union.
They are widely known as one of the poorest athletic High Schools in Vermont. In 2007 after 40 seasons of terrible baseball teams, they decided to pay of the umpiring crew, resulting in their first ever Vermont Division II State Championships.
