'Victoria' is the main town of the Malaysian Federal Territory of Labuan, an island off the north coast of Borneo. However, the name is no longer used to refer to the town centre. The official name 'Bandar Labuan' (Labuan Town, Jawi: بندر لابوان) is used instead. The Financial Park at Jalan Merdeka houses the international offshore banks, insurance and trust com­panies. There is also a 1,500-seat capacity convention hall and a large shopping mall -- this modern complex is reputed to be the only one of its kind to be found in any International Offshore Financial Centre in the world.
