'Vines High School' is a secondary school serving grades nine and ten. It is part of the Plano Independent School District, which uses an unconventional high school system in which students in grades nine and ten attend one of five high schools. Students in grades eleven and twelve attend senior high schools. Vines High School feeds into Plano Senior High School along with students from Jasper High School.

★ Vines received the Caudill Award for Architecture Excellence in school design.

★ Vines received Exemplary Recognition from the Texas Education Agency based on 2002-2003 TAAS scores.

★ Vines science fair and history fair students routinely compete and place/win at the district, regional, state, national, and international levels.

★ Vines was named by Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) Just For The Kids (JFTK) National Honor Roll as one of the top 10 high schools in Texas. Texas Monthly recognized Vines for this accomplishment as well.
