WQTV-LP
'WQTV-LP' (also WQWQ-TV) is The CW affiliate serving the Murray, Kentucky area, known on-air as '''"Heartland's CW"'''. The station is owned by Raycom Media, and is sister to KFVS-TV, the area's CBS affiliate in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. WQWQ-TV broadcasts on channel 24 in Murray and has its transmitter located between Murray and the village of Hazel. The station can also be seen full-time on cable and satellite outlets in the area. As shown in the station's CW logo, it is not referred to on-air as having the WQTV-LP call letters, but uses WQWQ-TV instead. The station operates from the KFVS12 studios in Cape Girardeau.
WQTV and WQWQ are low-power stations and as a result, do not broadcast digital signals of their own. However, WQTV-LP can be seen on KFVS's DT2 digital subchannel. The station is viewed mostly over cable, DirecTV and Dish Network due to its low-power status.

History
WQTV began in the late 1980s as 'W46BE', known on-air as "TV 46". It was designed to be a sister outlet for radio station WNBS-AM and was located on the Court Square in Downtown Murray. During its infancy, TV 46 was affiliated at various times with the All News Channel, FamilyNet, and Channel America. After its corporate bankruptcy, the license was sold to Jackson Purchase Broadcasting, owners of WSJP-AM and WBLN-FM. The call letters were changed to the current 'WQTV' and it became a WB affiliate. It was then sold to Murray State University, which continued to operate it as a for-profit enterprise. Eventually, the channel assignment was changed from 46 to 24, and MSU sold the station to Raycom.
WQTV then became a UPN affiliate, known as 'UPN The Beat' and was affiliated with that network until September of 2006. After the announcement of The WB and UPN networks merging to create 'The CW', WQTV was annonced as being an affiliate of the new network. On September 18, 2006, the station officially became a CW station, rebranded as 'Heartland's CW', and began to be offered on KFVS's DT2 digital subchannel.
Since becoming a sister station to KFVS, WQTV has aired a daily 9 PM weekday newscast produced by KFVS known as ''Heartland News At 9''. WQTV also shows a daily repeat of KFVS' weekday morning newscast known as ''The Breakfast Show'', at 7 AM. Recently, the station added a rebroadcast of KFVS's weekday ''Heartland News at Noon'' newscast at 1 PM. The daily 9 PM newscast has a Southeastern Missouri slant to it as KFVS covers Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky along with Southeastern Missouri in its news coverage. Since becoming a CW affiliate, WQTV's newscast has used the "Countdown" news music package, which is published by Gari Communications, Inc.
