WAALWIJK
'Waalwijk' () is a municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands.
It is a member of the Langstraat ( long street ).
It has small population of 50 000 and is located near the motorways A59 and N261. The villages of Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle, Sprang (the former municipality of Sprang-Capelle) and Waspik together with the city of Waalwijk form the municipality of Waalwijk.
The city has one of the most amazing churches in the Netherlands : the "Sint Janskerk" (St John's Church).
The church has the style of a mosque, but is owned and used as a place of worship for the St Jan Catholic parish.
The city has an old towncenter, which is recently modernized.

The city of Waalwijk
Waalwijk is a small town in North Brabant that lies between Tilburg and 's-Hertogenbosch. Waalwijk used to be very well known because of the shoe business.
Waalwijk was granted city rights in 1303. In 2003 Waalwijk celebrated this with under the slogan 'Waalwijk 700 jaar' (Waalwijk 700 years). The professional football team RKC plays in Waalwijk.
