WATERPROOFING

'Waterproofing' is the treatment of a surface to prevent the passage of water under hydrostatic pressure. The process where a building component is made totally resistant to the passage of water and/or water vapor.
Waterproofing is most commonly used when talking about Building Structures (basements, decks), Watercraft, Cloathing or Paper Products (Milk/Juice Cartons)
Construction Waterproofing
A building/structure is waterproofed with the use of membranes to protect contents underneath/within as well as protecting structural integrity. The waterproofing of the building envelope in construction specifications is under '07 - Thermal and Moisture' protection and includes roofing material as well as waterproofing materials.
Basement Waterproofing
If water wants to get into your basement – through joints or right through the walls or floor – you need a good basement waterproofing system to keep you dry. There are many systems available, but some have distinct advantages over others including cost, how invasive the installation is and simple effectiveness.
Clothing Waterproofing
A treatment made to clothing or products during or after the production process, which provides some protection against exposure to water. The extent to which the item is protected can vary by extended exposure, water depth , water composition, salts, chemicals, etc, and the quality or method of treatment. Products which are waterproofed can be made to be so by applying a waterproof spray.
