WEST VIRGINIA WILD


The 'West Virginia Wild' are an International Basketball League (2005-) team based in Charleston, West Virginia. The team was originally scheduled to play in 2005, but was moved to the 2006 season.
The Wild finished the 2006 season with a 4-14 record. They were led by 6' 9" Power Forward/Center J. R. VanHoose who averaged 26.8 ppg, and 15.5 rpg and was named to the IBL Eastern Conference All-Star Team along with Wild teammates Kalan Smith and player/owner Daniel Hicks.
The team was scheduled to return to action in the IBL in 2007, but ownership decided to skip the season and concentrate on the 2008 season.
