'Wexham' is a settlement on the border of the
unitary authority of
Slough and the district of
South Bucks (and the border between the non-metropolitan counties of
Berkshire and
Buckinghamshire), in southern
England.
The parish was originally very small, covering only 748 (3 km²) acres according to the 1881 and 1891 censuses. It was expanded greatly in 1934, taking in 1823 acres and about 1,000 people from the disbanded
Langley Marish parish.
The
civil parish of Wexham was divided under the
Local Government Act 1972, with the southern part becoming part of Slough and the northern part becoming part of South Bucks district. The northern part now constitutes the civil parish of Wexham, with the southern part being a parish called 'Wexham Court'. Wexham Court has a parish council with eleven members. The parish and some additional unparished territory form the three member
Slough Borough Council ward of Wexham Lea. See
Slough local elections for links to recent Borough election results.
The rump Buckinghamshire parish of Wexham includes
George Green,
Middle Green,
Wexham Street,
Langley Park and
Black Park Country Park.
The village has a
