Plot outline

When the "street-smart" rapper called C-Note (Big Boi) applies for a membership to an all-white Carolina Pines Country Club, the establishment's proprietors are hardly ready to oblige him. Unwilling to accept that the club views him as unfit for membership, C-Note purchases land near the 17th green - which he hopes will guarantee him membership. This sets the stage for an outrageous assault on the country club and its white members. Horrified, club president Cummings (Jeffrey Jones) and his associates try desperately to have C-Note's membership revoked. Meanwhile, C-Note decides to bring in a crew of thugs, who disrupt the goings on at the club with their irreverent attitudes and behaviour. A back-and-forth prankfest ensues.

The TV spots and trailers for the film feature what could be considered racist narration, and depict acts of racially charged violence from Black Americans towards White Americans (commonly called "reverse racism").[2][3]

Box office

The movie grossed $2.76 million in its first week at the box office, debuting in the number 10 spot.[4]

Reception

The film opened to mostly scathing reviews. In particular, many critics have deemed it a "terrible rip-off" of ''Caddyshack''.[5][6][7][8]
It has also been criticized for its cliched "Get Whitey" driven plot, which has been often used in urban black American comedies.[9]
It currently tops the IMDB 100 Worst films list, with an average rating of 1.2. It also holds a low 8% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
