WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PIONEERS


The 'Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers' are a professional arena football team. They are a 2002 expansion member of af2 and play their home games at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. They are the current American Conference champions in the af2 and lost ArenaCup VIII on August 25 2007.
NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas was one of the charter owners of the franchise.
On April 28 2007, the pioneers scored a franchise record for most points scored by defeating the Cincinnati Jungle Kats 94-25.
The head coach of the Pioneers is Rich Ingold.
