WILLIAM DE FORTIBUS
'William de Fortibus' (d. 1195) was a minor Anglo-Norman noble, from Fors in Poitou, associated by marriage to the title Earl of Albemarle. He married Hawise, heiress of William le Gros, 1st Earl of Albemarle.[1]
Philip Augustus took control of Aumale in the 1190s, leaving the Earl of Albemarles subsequently with their English holdings.
William de Forz, 3rd Earl of Albemarle was their son, and is also known by the same name.
