'Wittenberg' is a village in
Shawano County,
Wisconsin,
United States. The population was 1,177 at the 2000 census. The village is located within the
Town of Wittenberg.

According to the
United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.2
km² (1.6
mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the
census of 2000, there were 1,177 people, 436 households, and 272 families residing in the village. The
population density was 277.1/km² (718.2/mi²). There were 471 housing units at an average density of 110.9/km² (287.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.52%

Asian, and 1.02% from two or more races. 0.25% of the population were
Hispanic or
Latino of any race.
There were 436 households out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.5% were
married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.6% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 24.7% from 25 to 44, 15.3% from 45 to 64, and 28.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.8 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $29,926, and the median income for a family was $40,074. Males had a median income of $28,571 versus $21,202 for females. The
per capita income for the village was $17,695. About 9.2% of families and 12.9% of the population were below the
poverty line, including 14.4% of those under age 18 and 10.4% of those age 65 or over.
