 | Americans Afraid of Death? Are you? When you think about it, foreign cultures have embraced the Idea of death as being a cycle of life. But here in America, where is that ideology? Oh yea, it's in horror films and entertainment. Death has been come a joke and given it an unature and unreal personality. Hispanic cultures have a celebration of death. Day of the Dead. Dia de los Muertos, ring a bell? How about Buddhists philosphies and cultures that branch off. They pray to their DEAD ancestors. America doesn't allow death. It's expensive. A funeral now estimates to $10,000. I don't understand why you would really put $10,000 into the fucking ground with a dead body. Funerals have purely become a way to make money. Cremate instead! Our American culture hasn't experienced death, unlike the other cultures of the world. |
