![]() | Ashland Springs Hotel and Scientology This is an open letter to the Ashland Springs Hotel Dear Doug And Becky Neuman, Greetings. We are concerned citizens of Ashland. We are your neighbors, your clients and your guests. We have seen the shocking video leaked to YouTube entitled "Scientologists Advocate Violence Against Psychiatrists." This video was made for internal use by your church, The Church Of Scientology and features your church's leader David Miscavige. This video outlines Scientology's efforts toward the self-described "Global Obliteration of Psychiatry," much to the delighted cheers and applause of your fellow Scientologists. This rally features violent themes of destruction, wrath, and obliteration directed at the doctors and patrons of the mental health sciences. This plan, "Operation Planetary Calm" outlines in detail the harassment, slander, libel, and threats your church is perpetrating against our medical community and its care-givers. This Video is violent in nature, full of threats and falsehoods, and resembles nothing so much as a Klan Rally. BUT THAT"S NOT ALL, IS IT? The head of your church names the Ashland Springs Hotel by name as a promoter and collaborator of Scientology and "Operation Planetary Calm", your church's "war" against our doctors. We are your neighbors and we want to know, Are you using our towns' namesake historical landmark to further the global obliteration of psychiatry? Would you deny the right for people to choose the medical care they seek in times of need? Does violence against our doctors appeal to you? Bottom line, are you actually endorsing "Operation Planetary Calm?" For our part, we choose to stand with our doctors, not an extremist group advocating more destruction in an already divided nation. We Reject Scientology's attempt to prevent us from exercising our rights with respect to our own medical care. We have glimpsed the world of "mental-health care" under Scientology's direction. We remember Lisa McPherson and Jeremy Perkins, just two tragedies resulting from your church's lethal terror of psychiatry and psychology. It is clear in both of these cases that Scientology's denial of proper care resulted in two perfectly avoidable violent deaths. These are the outcomes that your "Operation Planetary Calm" will mandate on a global scale if your church succeeds. Now, to you. We ask that you emphatically and publicly repudiate your church's war on psychiatry and state that the views of your church leaders are NOT your own. Peaceful Muslims have done it. Barack Obama has done it. Will you? -Or are you being prevented from doing so?- We, your neighbors, have researched the Scientology Organization and the front groups to which you belong the World Institute of Scientological Enterprises (WISE), the Int'l Asociation of Scientologists (IAS) and The Way to Happiness Foundation (TWTH). We know you are in deep and they will not let you go without a fight. Radio interviews with the former founders of WISE state that WISE was created "to monitor and control public Scientologists", to keep the money coming into the Organization, and ensure no trademark violations. Internal WISE documents we have seen state that members should be threatened with "loss of case gain" should they ever decide to quit paying their dues. Yes, they will halt your progress up Hubbard's "Bridge To Total Freedom". Extortion for Enlightenment. How Charming. We know that if you speak out at your status level in the church you will be forced to pay thousands of dollars in "security checks" just so you can have the privilege to be trusted by the Church of Scientology. We have seen and do recognize the dangerous weapons of control your church wields against its members. In any case, it may be that your stated participation in "Operation Planetary Calm" may not be entirely voluntary. Are you hostages in Scientology's control? That might explain the conflicting statements made in our local papers. Five years ago you said that the Church Of Scientology was not part of your business at The Ashland Springs Hotel. But You Were a member of Scientology's business arm, WISE, you donated $100,000 to your church from Ashland's visitors, and have since put "The Way To Happiness" by your church's founder in all of your hotel rooms. It is time to come clean with your neighbors in Ashland. If you will not, then consider this the start of our public-awareness campaign confronting you, the Ashland Springs Hotel, and the Ashland community about your involvement in a violent campaign against our doctors. Thank you for your attention. We are the concerned citizens of Ashland |
