XANTERRA PARKS AND RESORTS
(Redirected from Xanterra)
'Xanterra Parks & Resorts' is a United States park and resort management company.
They specialise in tourism in U.S. National Parks, and have a presence in The Everglades, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, among other sites.
They have a monopoly over traveler accomidations and lodging once inside these parks. Pricing for lodging is relative to what one can expect for a four star hotel in a major metropolitain city. However, room accomidations are often very limited due to the remote locations of the resorts.
Xanterra in Yellowstone claims to offer a fully functioning compost facility that produces only 1% of waste. This fact however is fudged in an attempt to keep their government contract and in truth employees are often told to throw anything into the compost facility because it 'doesn't matter anyways'.
Almost all service employees are those from outside the park, often from other countries, who work and live in the park for brief periods. As a result service is often times unsatisfactory.
