'''You and I''' (working title: ''Finding t.A.T.u.'') is an upcoming film, a fictionalized version of real events from the novel ''t.A.T.u. Come Back''. Casting and filming began in May 2007, and is planned for a May 2008 release. Although the main characters are infatuated with each other, the directors of the film are hoping to receive ratings from each country that will permit everyone, especially younger audiences, to see the film freely.

Production
The film was first announced in October 2006 by Yulia Volkova during a press conference in Paris, France, "The script has already been written and now some questions on shooting are being considered."
Aleksey Mitrofanov, the author of the novel on which the film is based, is playing a large part in the production of the film, as are t.A.T.u. The group will be playing themselves in the film, and not Janie and Lana.
Mitrofanov has mentioned that in selecting a director, they looked for one who knew the international market well, as they planned to release the film internationally. They turned to American production companies, and an English director, Roland Joffé, was chosen. The movie will be filmed in Moscow (stage nine of Mosfilm building T.A.T.U. IN MOSFILM ), Yaroslavl, and in Los Angeles, California, but the story will be based in Russia, mainly Moscow. Exotic locations make fore adventures in filmmaking Todd Longwell
Filming was scheduled to end on August 14. The film will be presented at the 61st Cannes Film Festival in May 2008.
Plot summary
Set against a background of music, internet chatrooms, and hedonistic Moscow nightlife, the story follows friendless American teenager Janie Sawyer who is trying to escape her lonely life in Moscow through her love of music. Janie meets Lana Starkova on a fansite for the pop-band t.A.T.u. Trapped in a provincial Russian town, Lana is desperate to flee her mundane life and the two girls develop an instant connection. Their trip to a t.A.T.u. concert becomes the catalyst for a series of adventures that will not only test their newfound friendship, but also their ideals and aspirations. Tatu set for big screen?
t.A.T.u. have stated the movie will be very scandalous, and won't deal with the "love and roses" often found in films, but the real scandal and hardships that come along with relationships. The two girls on whom this story is based are currently imprisoned in Russia.

Soundtrack
t.A.T.u.'s upcoming English album Waste Management, planned for an early 2008 release, will be the soundtrack of the film. The soundtrack includes the song "You & I" (the film's titular track) and "Little People".
