'Zanetto Bugatto' (before
1458 -
1474) was an
Italian painter of the
Quattrocento.
He was probably born in
Milan.
He executed portraits at the
Sforza court of the
Duchy of Milan from
1458, including that of
Ippolita Sforza and her father
Francesco I. During
1460-
1463 he supposedly trained under
Rogier Van der Weyden at
Bruxelles. Five years later he is known to have travelled to
France. In
1472 he worked by
Bonifacio Bembo at the church of Madonna delle Grazie in
Vigevano. The following year, again with Bembo and
Vincenzo Foppa, he worked at
Pavia in San Celso and the castle.
Bugatto died in Milan in 1474.
