ZINGAIA
'Zingaia' is a recording artist group in the genres of Contemporary World Music, New Age music, and Ethnic electronica residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their music includes exotic multi-cultural instrumentation, hand-drums and percussion, both vocal and instrumental songs, eclectic lyrics and titles, and themes relating to mythology, neo-paganism, Goddess themes, Shamanism, trance-dance, and other related topics.
Zingaia is the brainchild of Michael and Katlyn Breene, a multi-talented husband and wife team. Michael creates the music in his studio, often collaborating with various singers and musicians. Katlyn, artist and lyricist, creates the album covers and writes most of the lyrics. Pianist and keyboard player by trade, Michael’s career includes a wide variety of musical styles and influences. His roots were as a jazz pianist (he toured with the legendary Sarah Vaughan and jazz greats Freddie Hubbard and Jon Hendricks), and later played in rock and roll bands, funk, country, and even large orchestras. Katlyn has collaborated in the creation of album covers for several other recording artists as well, including Gary Stadler (whose wife Tamara Stadler wrote lyrics for several Zingaia songs) and Sophia and EverStar. Abbi "Spinner" McBride, wife and partner of stage magician Jeff McBride, was featured as lead vocalist and wrote some of the lyrics on Zingaia's 2000 release, ''Dancers of Twilight.''
'''Soles on Earth''', Zingaia’s 2004 release was co-produced by Michael Breene with David and Steve Gordon, founders of Sequoia Records. The album received the Coalition of Visionary Retailers’ ''Best World Album of the Year'' award in 2005. [1]
Zingaia’s music has been featured in films and TV productions, including '''Dances of Ecstacy''' produced by Luna Pictures Australia in 2004. [2]
and '''A Magickal Life: Jeff McBride','' produced and broadcasted by Canada's VisionTV, a one-hour episode of their series ''Enigma True-Life Stories'' in January 2006 [3].
