New Diggs on the Las Vegas Block: The Palazzo

There's a new kid on the block - and it is 642-feet tall with 50 storeys, 60 new luxury boutiques, a 60-foot (18 metre) glass dome lobby with a two-story fountain, and over 3000 expansive rooms - all which are suites. Ladies and gentlemen, meet The Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino.

The official grand opening of The Palazzo was just last week, January 17th, 2008. It stands right beside the Venetian and is a $1.9 billion extension of the already massive Venetian Casino Resort and Sands Expo complex, right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. The first new resort in three years, it is celebrated as the newest and most luxurious spot that Vegas has to offer.

Shopping and Spa.

A remarkable lineup of luxury stores and brands can be found at the Palazzo, including: Chloé, Tory Burch, Christian Louboutin, Diane Von Furstenberg, Van Cleef & Arpels, Anya Hindmarch, Poleci, Lambertson Truex, Phillipe Charriol, Edidi, Piaget and Michael Kors. This is not to mention a new 85,000 square foot Barneys New York. The spa at the Palazzo will offer its Canyon Ranch SpaClub for all guests and visitors.

Wining and Dining.

14 new restaurants and dining spots will be opening, and some of today's top chefs are opening restaurantsat the Palazzo. Mario Batali will be opening a restaurant, "Carnevino." Wolfgang Puck will open "CUT," and Emeril Lagasse will open a "Table 10." Charlie Trotter will open a "Restaurant Charlie" here, as well. The Palazzo will also feature an all day and all night Grand Lux Café by David Overton, creator of the Cheesecake Factory.

Entertaniment.

The Palazzo will be the home to the Las Vegas version of the dynamic 40/40 Club sports bar and lounge, the brainchild of music mogul Jay-Z. The only Lamborghini showroom, as well as 2 new night clubs will be ready in Spring 2008. Also in Spring, the smash-hit Broadway musical JERSEY BOYS will begin performances.
